Started off good, but I didn't pay attention to the romance part of the book description, not my kind if book.
Another entertaining read in the Outer Settlement Agency series. In Anja's Star, a gamble by Agency man Retzi sets off a string of events. Knotted up in the string is Anja, the mechanic hired by Retzi's pirate father to take care of his ship. They have two weeks to recover Retzi Sr.'s ship or else. You know what else. Trouble.
Not long, every sentence in this short story moves the plot forward. Lots of action, lots of amusing dialog between the un-curable flirt Retzi and Anja who works hard to ignore the flirting. Well maybe not that hard. Anja's Star is for anyone that wants to read a quick, light sci-fi romance.
This was a very enjoyable fast read. The characters were extremely likable. I'll be reading more in the series.
Great book. Love how the writers imagination ran wild and introduced me to different possibilities. The ending left me wanting to read more
This story may be only 80 pages long, but there's a lot packed in there. Unlike many short stories, this one is a quick AND satisfying read.
I liked this book. It had good characters, good action and good world-building. Fleshed out a little more and with a little more interaction between Retzi and Anja, it could be turned into a longer novel. I read this novella about the same time I read Tales from the SFR Brigade, and when I went back to write the review, I thought it was part of that anthology. It was certainly on par with those well-edited stories. Lots of action packed into this short book and nearly all the interaction is between the two main characters. I liked the ending, too. Would read more from this author.
Good story and fast page-turner. It's a really quick read, so not as developed as a full novel, but still great, fun characters in an action-packed scenario with steamy chemistry.
